How to Choose a Photo for Your Royal Pet Portrait

A clear photo helps us keep the features that make your pet unmistakably yours. Before ordering your custom royal pet portrait canvas, use these simple checks to choose a suitable image.

Keep the face clear

Choose a photo where your pet’s face is visible and in focus. Check the eyes, nose and the edges of the ears. A face partly hidden by another object gives us less detail to work with.

Use good light

A well-lit photo makes fur color and facial features easier to see. Soft daylight is a useful choice. Avoid an image where the face is lost in shadow or bright light washes out the details.

Check the original image

Open the photo at a larger size and check that the face still looks clear. Use the original photo when possible, rather than a small screenshot or a heavily filtered copy.

Choose the size and frame

The canvas comes in 8 × 10, 12 × 16 and 16 × 24 inch sizes, with stretched canvas or a black framed finish. Use the size guide on the product page to compare them with your space.

Review your portrait

Upload your chosen photo on the product page. You will receive an email preview before printing, with an opportunity to request an adjustment. The current product terms explain that printing may proceed if there is no response within 24 hours, so keep an eye on your checkout email.
